The majority of litigation that Savage Day handles falls within the category of “general commercial litigation.” This includes breach of contract cases that span the spectrum of business disputes from distributor, vendor, employment and landlord-tenant disputes. There is no subject matter area of a contract that we are not comfortable handling.
In addition to our contract practice, we litigate cases where fraud or misrepresentation is alleged, And then there are all the cases that don’t fit well within the contract or fraud categories, but which impact clients on a daily basis. Defamation, unfair competition, consumer protection and privacy litigation are just a few.
We know that many disputes potentially trigger insurance coverage and that how you handle things can affect whether you are covered or not. Kelly Savage Day spent the past decade representing insurance companies in an array of disputes. She now uses that insider’s knowledge for our clients.
We also recognize that for companies in the public eye, handling matters at the pre-litigation stage is crucial. We handle any matter that has risen to the level of a “dispute” even though that often means that no lawsuit has yet been filed. We also handle on a retainer basis such things like responding to all third-party subpoenas for clients so they don’t need their in-house lawyers to spend valuable time on responding to requests from third parties in cases where they are not named, or responding to cease and desist letters.
